Any woman can pull off a little black dress, though you can really make a statement when you find the perfect one. It all started in the 1920's when Coco Chanel invented the original LBD for a photo shoot in Vogue. Vogue thought it would become a simple dress for women of any class. Before the 1920's, black was considered for mourning. Because of so many people dying in World War 1 it became usual for people to be seen outside in black. Coco intended to make something affordable and versatile that any woman could wear. The little black dress is an essential piece any woman should have in their wardrobe. A simple black dress can be dressed up or down for day or night attire just as Coco wanted- a versatile piece. Over the years, companies have created more elaborate and detailed dresses. Now they have strapless, classic, halter, one-shoulder, and pretty much anything imaginable. They have a dress out there for everyone, what does yours look like???
